Public statement by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and The Jordan Tourism Board- وزارة السياحة والآثار ومجلس السياحة الأردني يصدرون بيان لتوضيح الاحداث المؤخرة في الاردن

WTTEN- Over the past few days Jordan witnessed peaceful protests in cities across the country against austerity measures that are part of an economic reform program including a new income tax draft law. The protests resulted in the resignation of the incumbent government and the designation of a new one. These protests have now ended with the newly designated prime minister reaching an agreement with major stakeholders to withdraw the draft law in question for further deliberations with all parties concerned.

Jordan is a democratic country and Jordanians took to the streets to exercise and express in the most responsible and restraint manner their constitutional right to peaceful demonstrations. Jordan has once again set a beautiful example to the world of what a peaceful and civilized country it is. A country that respects its citizens and its governing institutions.

With that said, we would like to assure you that throughout the past few days none of the tourism services nor sites were affected. Tourism activities and programs went uninterrupted. Tourists from all over the world continued and continue to flock into our country reassured of the safety and security they enjoy while touring the various beautiful regions of Jordan. The tourism sector is witnessing an unprecedented growth and we are expecting it to continue on this positive trajectory.

Jordan was selected by tens of major international renowned travel publications as one of the best destinations to visit in 2018. And this remains the case. Now, more than ever, is the perfect time to visit our beautiful Kingdom! Make sure not to miss this vibrant season with its cool summer nights, warm summer days and events that will satisfy the discerning tastes of our dear visitors.

السياحة والآثار ومجلس السياحة الأردني يصدرون بيان لتوضيح الاحداث المؤخرة في الاردن

عالم السياحة- خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية ، شهد الأردن احتجاجات سلمية في مدن في جميع أنحاء البلاد ضد إجراءات التقشف التي تشكل جزءاً من برنامج الإصلاح الاقتصادي بما في ذلك مشروع قانون ضريبة الدخل الجديد. نتج عن الاحتجاجات استقالة الحكومة الحالية وتعيين حكومة جديدة. وقد انتهت هذه الاحتجاجات الآن مع وصول رئيس الوزراء المعين حديثاً إلى اتفاق مع أصحاب المصلحة الرئيسيين لسحب مشروع القانون المذكور من أجل مزيد من المداولات مع جميع الأطراف المعنية.
