After terror attacks more people afraid of dying in a plane crash
Fear of flying is prompting more and more people to make a ‘holiday will’.
Solicitors say there is a growing trend for people planning a foreign trip to make provision for their nearest and dearest.
Tasoula Addison, will and probate specialist at Gorvins Solicitors, said terror attacks and the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370 in March 2014 have heightened anxiety.
The legal firm said that often travellers are booking a first appointment just a fortnight before they fly, and insist on getting their will done and dusted before take-off.
Some are even having wills written that apply only if they die on holiday.
Mrs Addison says some clients have put provisions in their will for what should happen if they die abroad, or even on flight itself.
