Air Arabia Jordan to commence service from May
The airline will begin with direct flights to four countries in the region focusing on strengthening connectivity between Jordan and the Levant, Middle East, Europe and North Africa.
Commencing 18 May, the airline’s inaugural flight will take off to Kuwait city as the first destination, followed by regular scheduled services to Jeddah, Erbil and Sharm El Sheikh on 19, 20 and 21 May respectively. Plans are also underway to launch more destinations in 2015.
Air Arabia had earlier announced establishment of its fifth international hub in Jordan following acquisition of a 49% stake in Petra Airlines; this lead to creation of Air Arabia Jordan.
Adel A Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia said: “As a major tourism market with a stable domestic economy, Jordan offers a superb opportunity to serve both in-bound and out-bound passenger demand. In turn, the launch of Air Arabia Jordan will provide a direct boost to the Jordanian economy through creation of skilled jobs and opening up of new opportunities for local businesses.
