The year 2015 will see Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) get on to an aggressive global promotion campaign, The tourism authority has announced its intent to hold the largest overseas promotion campaign participating in 24 trade exhibitions and 13 road shows across 34 cities in 25 countries.

“We are expanding our footprint to new markets such as Serbia, South Africa, Holland and Azerbaijan while the established road show product will be extended to take in new destinations including Amsterdam,” said Mubarak Al Nuami, director, promotions and overseas offices, TCA Abu Dhabi.

The authority will be participating for the first time in the Jeddah International Travel & Tourism Exhibition and IFT Serbia Travel Exhibition, Belgrade.

“In Jeddah we will take our expanding leisure product targeted to the Saudi traveller – who is one of the most important targets in our GCC market,” explained Al Nuaimi.

In March, TCA’s European roadshow will kick off with London, Frankfurt, Milan and Paris and will roll out, for the first time to Amsterdam. This decision to conduct an event in Amsterdam was supported by statistics which show that in the first nine months of this year, 16.161 Dutch guests checked into Abu Dhabi’s 156 hotels and hotel apartments. This was a 35% rise on the same period in 2014. The Dutch guests generated 57,997 guest nights, which was up 33% year-on-year and they stayed, on an average, just short of four nights.

Overall, TCA Abu Dhabi is targeting 3.5 million hotel guests in 2015.
