Gulf Air Proudly Welcomes its New 70th Anniversary Edition Airbus A321neoLR

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 05 February 2021: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, today welcomed its new Airbus A321neoLR which landed in the new terminal of Bahrain International Airport at approximately 0640 local time on Friday 5th February 2021. The aircraft is designed with the special 70^thanniversary Golden Falcon livery which showcases the airline’s iconic and vintage design from the last century with a revamped look. Following its delivery from the Airbus delivery centre in Hamburg, Germany, the aircraft will operate long-haul European routes as well as a selection of GCC destinations. The aircraft is the second of the 17 A321neo aircraft order which includes 8 that are equipped with flat-bed seats. Gulf Air was the first airline in the Middle East to introduce fully flat-beds on this aircraft type.

Commenting on this milestone delivery, H.E. Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani, Chairman of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors said: “We are delighted to welcome our newest aircraft, the Airbus A321neoLR into our fleet in its special 70^th anniversary Golden Falcon livery. This addition will strengthens our position in the medium to long haul markets as it represents an upgraded product to offer best in class service to our passengers. The relationship that we have with Airbus is very strong and we continue to work closely with them to further develop our fleet and products to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction”.

The new aircraft premieres 16 new flat-bed Falcon Gold seats and 150 economy class seats, further solidifying the commitment that Gulf Air has in being the boutique airline of the Middle East. All seats are equipped with latest in-flight entertainment technology and in-seat comfort features that are practical and user-friendly for every passenger. The aircraft boasts the essence of the overall boutique experience with the opportunity to provide more personalized service, cosier cabin and faster process of boarding and disembarking. The new aircraft will also be equipped with wireless internet connection (WiFi) as the airline continues to offer the best in class service to passengers flying on its young fleet. As the airline expands its network to further places and include new destination to its growing network map, it keeps elevating the service level with more appealing products and facilities to make journeys on Gulf Air more comfortable and enjoyable.

Gulf Air’s A321neoLR is powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines and it is the largest and most advanced A320 family aircraft. Featuring the widest single aisle cabin in the market, the A321neoLR is also more eco-friendly than other types of the same size and it delivers up to 20% fuel burn reduction per seat, up to 14% lower cash operating costs per seat and 50% noise reduction.

المنامة، مملكة البحرين في 05 فبراير 2021: استقبلت طيران الخليج – الناقلة الوطنية لمملكة البحرين – اليوم طائرتها الجديدة من طراز إيرباص321neoLR التي هبطت في المبنى الجديد بمطار البحرين الدولي في حوالي الساعة 0640 صباحاً بالتوقيت المحلي يوم الجمعة 5 فبراير 2021. وقد تم تصميم الطائرة باستخدام هوية الصقر الذهبي الخاصة بالذكرى السبعين والتي تحتفل بالتصميم الكلاسيكي للناقلة من القرن الماضي مع إضفاء بعض لمسات التجديد على المظهر. بعد استلامها من مركز تسليم إيرباص في هامبورغ بألمانيا، ستشغّل الطائرة على رحلات الوجهات الأوروبية طويلة المدى، بالإضافة إلى وجهات مختارة في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي. هذه الطائرة هي الثانية من بين 17 طائرة طلبتها الناقلة من طراز إيرباص 321neoوالتي تتضمن 8 طائرات مزودة بمقاعد ذات أسرة مسطحة. وكانت طيران الخليج أول شركة طيران في الشرق الأوسط تطرح أسرة مسطحة بالكامل على رحلاتها باستخدام هذا النوع من الطائرات.

تعقيباً على هذا الحدث الهام ، قال رئيس مجلس إدارة طيران الخليج سعادة السيد زايد بن راشد الزياني “يسعدنا أن نرحب بأحدث طائراتنا من طراز إيرباص321neoLR وانضمامها إلى اسطول طيران الخليج والمصممة بتصميم الاحتفاء بالذكرى السبعين لانطلاقة الصقر الذهبي ، وتأتي هذه الإضافة لتعزيز مكانه الاسطول في أسواق الرحلات المتوسطة والطويلة المدى لأنها تمثل منتجًا مطورًا لتقديم أفضل الخدمات لمسافرينا. إن العلاقة التي نتمتع بها مع شركة إيرباص قوية للغاية وسنواصل العمل معا لتطوير أسطولنا ومنتجاتنا تحقيقا لرضا عملائنا دائما وفق أعلى المعايير العالمية في عالم الطيران”. 

تتضمن الطائرة الجديدة 16 مقعدًا جديدًا بسرير مسطح في درجة الصقر الذهبي و150 مقعدًا في الدرجة السياحية، مما يعزز التزام طيران الخليج باستراتيجيتها التي تتميز بها في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.. وقد تم تجهيز جميع المقاعد بأحدث تقنيات الترفيه على متن الطائرة ومزايا الراحة في المقاعد العملية وسهلة الاستخدام لكل راكب. وستقدم الطائرة تجربة شاملة للمسافرين مع إتاحة الفرصة لتقديم خدمة شخصية بشكل أكبر، ومقصورة أكثر راحة، وعملية أسرع للصعود والنزول من الطائرة. ستكون الطائرة الجديدة مجهزة بميزة الاتصال اللاسلكي بالإنترنت (الواي فاي) حيث تواصل الناقلة تقديم احدث الخدمات على متن طائراتها الجديدة. بينما تقوم طيران الخليج بإضافة الوجهات الجديدة لشبكة وجهاتها المتنامية، تواصل رفع مستوى خدماتها مع المزيد من المنتجات والمرافق الأكثر جاذبية لجعل الرحلات على طيران الخليج أكثر راحة ومتعة لجميع المسافرين.

تعمل طائرة إيرباص 321 نيو التابعة لطيران الخليج بمحركات CFM LEAP-1Aوتعد أكبر طائرة من عائلة طائرات إيرباص 320 وأكثرها تقدمًا. وتتميز طائرة إيرباص 321 نيو بأكبر المقصورات ذات الممر الواحد في السوق، وهي أيضًا صديقة للبيئة أكثر من الأنواع الأخرى من الطائرات ذات نفس الحجم؛ كما أنها توفر ما يصل إلى 20٪ من معدل حرق الوقود لكل مقعد، وتكاليف تشغيل نقدية أقل بنسبة تصل إلى 14٪ لكل مقعد، وما نسبته 50 ٪ من تقليل الضوضاء.
